This course emphasizes communication competencies by teaching students how to write messages (persuasive as well as negative), components of a business proposal, and components of a fax, group dynamics, intercultural communication, media relations, and ethics. Utilizing and creating references will also be discussed. This course will cover the processes for effective management writing, including communication barriers, writing in different mediums as well as effective speaking in various situations. Student will be challenged to understand how media works, how to manage ethics in media, and how to identify and write for newsworthy events. How to define and manage crisis events in the media will also be addressed.
