This course will define and create an understanding of how Operations Management functions assist companies reach their goals and objectives in producing goods and services. Topics addressed include forecasting, managing quality, processes for analysis, design, sustainability, product development, competitive advantage, and global issues in operations management. Issues of supply chain, inventory management, aggregate planning, material planning as well as how business choose locations and how they will in turn set up the best layout for production are addressed. Scheduling, jobs and JIT operations will also be covered.
